And Now, Back to Our Show

One of the leaders of our teams had a “NoVid” party.

It’s like they were saying, “OK, we’re done, let’s get back to the regularly scheduled show!”

We can see the pace of business returning yet with a different flavor. In some spots, it’s a slow leak. In others, it’s a full-on fire hose.

What’s your “show” look like right now? How are you, your family, your business, and your employees?

A lot has happened in the last year. It’s time to memorialize it before we forget.

What changed for you? In you? In your business?

What will you keep?

What will you stop?

How will you make sure to remember what you learned? What will never go back to the way it was?

Here’s just one thought for the weekend.

Write it down.

The shift in employees, customers, suppliers, and your community has changed. How?

Take 5 minutes and pound out an email to yourself reviewing you, your family, and your company answering the above questions. Think through all your constituents. Ask your team to do it as well. Then share what you’ve written. The stories of these journals will give you a window into the good, bad, and what should stay and go.

We’re fickle creatures and quickly forget what we’ve learned.

You know this to be true as you have to say the same things over and over again to your team for it to permeate your company. You do it with values and your why. Patrick Lencioni calls it the Chief Reminding Officer. You need to memorialize and then create a path to reminding at this moment – before the full pace of business returns, and we get back to our regularly scheduled program.
